Anastasiadis Anthimos

Dr. Anthimos S. Anastasiadis holds a Diploma in Civil Engineering from the Universitatea Politehnica Timișoara, Romania (1995), and a PhD from the same institution (1999) in the field of seismic design of steel structures. He is a consulting engineer with thirty years of experience in the design and supervision of private and public works, and an expert in structural failure analysis and claims management in civil engineering projects.

He is a member of TEE (Technical Chamber of Greece), ETAM, EllIE, AICPS and FEANI. He has extensive teaching experience, having taught across all levels of engineering education, including continuing professional development (CPD centres), TEI and university programmes. His research has focused on the structural design of buildings in structural steel and reinforced concrete, with emphasis on ductility, strengthening methods for existing conventional reinforced concrete structures and historic/traditional unreinforced masonry buildings subjected to seismic-type loading. His research interests further extend to the holistic geostatic and seismic design of high-resilience, low-energy building infrastructure.

He has authored more than 90 scientific papers, publications and technical articles, has drafted research and technology proposals, and serves as a reviewer for leading engineering journals (Springer, Elsevier, MDPI, ASCE). He has also participated in European and Greek research programmes, including RECOS (2000), EPANTYK (2002), INSYSME (2017) and Ereuno-Kainotomo (2018).
