Michailides Constantine

Constantine Michailides is an Associate Professor of Marine Engineering in the Department of Civil Engineering at the International Hellenic University. He graduated from the Department of Civil Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where he completed his undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral studies.

He worked for nine years as a Researcher at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and as an Assistant Professor at Liverpool John Moores University and the Cyprus University of Technology. His research interests focus on computational analysis, experimental and laboratory testing, and structural health monitoring of marine structures and the marine environment using field measurement systems, wave-structure interaction, offshore wind turbines (fixed-bottom and floating), and energy infrastructure (including hydrocarbon technology and wave energy converters).

He has participated in more than twenty research projects and has authored a book with an international publisher. His publication record includes more than 70 papers in peer-reviewed international journals and more than 60 conference papers, and his work has received more than 3,000 citations (h-index: 29/Google Scholar, 26/Scopus). He has served as a reviewer for more than fifty international scientific journals and conferences, and is a member of the editorial board of six international journals.

He has been selected as Coordinating Lead Author of the chapter “Marine Infrastructures” for the United Nations World Ocean Assessment III report. He is included in the Stanford University list of the top 2% most cited researchers worldwide (2022, 2023 and 2024), recognising his significant contribution to the advancement of research and innovation.
