🌍 REDAS v2.0: Advancing earthquake preparedness across the Black Sea Basin
Originally developed through the REDACt project, the Rapid Earthquake Damage Assessment System (REDAS) is being significantly upgraded under REDA_NEXt.
The new version introduces region-specific fragility curves and ground-motion models, improved site-effect and secondary-hazard analysis, integration of local monitoring data, automated data checks, and high-resolution hazard and building-risk maps. These advances will support faster, more reliable and transparent decision-making following an earthquake.
REDA_NEXt (BSB00942) project partners include International Hellenic University (project Coordinator), Istanbul Technical University, Universitatea OVIDIUS din Constanta and Democritus University of Thrace – (D.U.Th.) (Civil Engineering Department, DUTh).
The REDA_NEXt project (BSB942) is co-funded by the European Union (EU) through the INTERREG NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme. This support underlines the EU’s commitment to strengthening regional cooperation, sustainable development, and improved civil protection strategies in this vital cross-border area.
Project Budget: €499,511.03, of which €449,559.92 are European (Interreg) funds.
Further information and updates are available on the REDA_NEXt project website and the official channels of the INTERREG NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme.
